Enter the Secret Garden, meet the Queen of Heaven, run a Rosary Race, solve puzzles, avoid shipwrecks, create your own Mary Garden, design an obstacle course, and discover the truth about your Catholic faith.
The It's a Mystery Series continues with this third children's retreat based on Catholic dogma. The Secret Garden focuses on Marian dogma and traditions. Like the previous two retreats, this third one is independent. Thus, a family or parish group may enjoy the retreats in any order. The number of children participating in these retreats varies from three to over one hundred.
The goals of this unique and interactive retreat are threefold:
1. Introducing children to Marian dogma
- Mary is truly the Mother of God.
- Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin and remained sinless.
- Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, and she remained a virgin.
- Mary was assumed into Heaven body and soul.
2. Teaching Catholic traditions both old and new
- Rosary
- Marian hymns
- Marian virtues
- Mary gardens
3. Showing children how they can participate in living their faith
- through games
- through prayer
- by practicing virtues, especially patience
This well-organized program guides you day by day through the process of putting on a retreat even if you have no experience.
