A Latin chant program performed exclusively by children and designed to help children learn many of the Church’s beautiful chants. Children hear the chants performed in a key range and by voices most like their own to make it easy for them to learn.

The Teaching DVD allows children to learn independently. It is like having a music instructor in your living room teaching your student to sing beautiful musical treasures of the Church! Every chant included on the Teaching DVD corresponds with the chants included on the Gregorian Chant for Kids Music CD, except that the DVD features the voices of children singing “a cappella” (with voices only) . . . without distracting organ accompaniment.

Each chant displays a music page on your TV screen with clear, simple notation and each note lighting up in red as your hear each note being sung. This helps your child to follow right along with the melody and also prevents him from losing his place on the music page.

The DVD menu on your TV screen offers the choice of practicing each chant at slow speed (good to use when first introducing a new chant), and normal speed when your child starts to feel more comfortable with a chant.

Every musical phrase of every chant is chapter marked so the remote control can be used to easily go back and repeat and practice each phrase as many times as needed, one phrase at a time. This allows your child to learn each chant in smaller, bite-sized lessons. And, of course, the pause button allows him to take a break and pick up the lesson again later, exactly where he left off.

The Gregorian Chant for Kids Teaching DVD is best used in conjunction with the Gregorian Chant for Kids Music Booklet, which focuses on the phonetic pronunciation of the Latin, plus the English translation of the Latin.
