“Our 3 oldest children have loved using Devotional Stories for Little Folks and after reading the stories, they incorporate them into our conversations and daily life. It's neat to see them internalize the lessons they have learned.”
- Hollee, VA
“I LOVE the Little Stories for Little Folks series and especially Devotional Stories for Little Folks. The stories really hit home, especially when the Peterson family is going through behavior issues such as sharing, as in "Sharing 'most Everything".”
- Maria, Minnesota
“My kids love hearing the stories from Devotional Stories for Little Folks every morning. It is a great way for our family to start the day with our Lord!”
- Rachel, TX
“I started reading this book with my second grader, but soon after we started taking turns at reading aloud, the entire family came into the living room to join us. This book is filled with stories that teach good behavior and manners. They are gentle in their mode of teaching at a simplistic level. However, they are strong at making the point that we must live and act in a Godly manner. Our older children enjoy these stories too and they can delve deeper into the topics by looking up the Scripture passage or the Catechism reference that follows the stories.”
- Tami, WA
“I am extremely pleased with CHC's Devotional Stories for Little Folks. My 5-year-old son enjoys the stories so much, and they really speak to him. Many of the faith concepts he is learning in Religion have been reinforced in a delightful way through the Peterson Family stories. My son loves all the characters and looks forward to the many adventures they go through--and the many faith lessons they learn. A real winner!”
- Reyna, CA
“My 6-year-old son LOVES Devotional Stories for Little Folks. The books and stories are deceptively simple in that you *think* you are just reading a funny story about another homeschooling family, but each story is a moral lesson in itself, describing the sometimes hilarious antics of the Peterson family (a homeschool family as real as they come!), vocabulary words, Scripture verses, Catechism of the Catholic Church quotations, discussion questions, and even an answer key and topical index in the back for Mom and Dad. Combined with the other core curriculum of CHC, you have a very solid academic experience.

Our book is dog-eared from the amount of time my son spends reading this book, in bed, huddled in a corner, in his make-shift fort, in the car - all over the place.”

- Jessica, IN
“I love the Devotional Stories for Little Folks! My children and I have 'reading time' together twice a week. I read these stories aloud, and then we discuss the questions. The stories are extremely well-written; my hand itches to pick up a pen every time I read one of the "Little Folks" stories! I love how realistic and down-to-earth all the characters are; I love how the reader can place him/herself in the story with Seth and his family. What a blessing these stories have been to me, as a mother! How lovely it is to share good stories about other kids with my own children. Thank you so much - you are truly a blessing from the Lord!”
- Joan, SC
“My 3 children and I have been enjoying CHC's Devotional Stories for Little Folks and Devotional Stories for Little Folks, Too. We started using them as read-alouds last year when my oldest was in kindergarten. My children especially enjoyed hearing about Greg's and Becca's antics, and would beg for "one more Peterson story" before they turned out the lights to go to bed. When Bigger Stories for Little Folks came out, my oldest was very excited because she was able to read those stories all by herself. She is now able to read Devotional Stories as well. We are planning to use these books next year as part of the 2nd grade curriculum.”
- Susan, MA
“We have thoroughly enjoyed the Devotional Stories for Little Folks. It is my kids' favorite book to pick a story from to read before bedtime. I love the great virtues that they have learned through the stories.”
- Michelle, Washington
“My 8 year old liked Devotional Stories so much, he took it to bed every night for a week until he had finished it! One night he was giggling so loud in his bed that I was afraid he would wake up the younger kids. When I asked him what was so funny he showed me 'Yellowstone Bread' and said (through uncontrollable giggles), 'Mom, can I make some bread tomorrow!?' It's a great little book!!”
- Alice
“My second grader was the most interested in Devotional Stories for Little Folks, learning valuable lessons on how to behave in church and at home - and so much more. We read one story a day - good way to start the day. It has helped us, including myself, learn more about our faith life and ideas for our daily activities. We are now ordering the rest of the set: Devotional Stories for Little Folks, Too and Bigger Stories for Little Folks. Thank you Nancy Nicholson and CHC for helping bring this wonderful read and resource into our home! 5 Stars, Highly recommending to all our friends.”
- Melissa, MN
“My children remember the stories from the Devotional Stories, especially when something similar happens in their own lives or the lives of their friends. They love the religious content in all the curricula. It has helped them make the right choices at times. I'd like to thank you for all the great Catholic curricula. My family has truly been blessed by the materials you offer. May God continue to bless your ministry.”
- Karen, FL
“We absolutely LOVE Devotional Stories... Seth, Meg and Greg are almost part of our family at this point, we talk about them so often! Keep up the great work.”
- Andrea, ON, Canada
“All our children who can read have read the Devotional Stories books from cover to cover. I am very impressed that they have retained the gist of the story, even a very long time afterward. I have opened the books at random and asked a question about some topic discussed, and they are readily able to answer my questions, and tell me the rest of the story.”
- Martha, KS
“I wanted to thank you for Devotional Stories. My daughter loves them and will easily sit down and read 2-3 stories at one time even if they are stories that she has read before. She is always asking if she can read just one more story. I am looking forward to buying Devotional Stories for Little Folks, Too for next year. Thanks!”
- Christina, Georgia
“We have used Devotional Stories for Little Folks books for our reading comprehension. I don't even have to ask them the comprehension questions anymore, my kids like the stories so much they've read them many times over. My 10-year-old can still be found cuddled up in a corner reading them, three years after using Devotional Stories as reading comprehension curriculum! The "Church Picnic" story really hit home with my children and they have learned countless other moral lessons, as well.”
- Colleen, MI
“We started Devotional Stories after the Christmas season and I have to say the children beg for another story every day. And the stories stick! This is THE way to reach [my daughter]. It's good training and encouragement for parents too--those of us who didn't grow up with any discipline and are trying to figure out what to do in all of those real life situations. We all laugh and laugh at those situations in the story--so close to home!”
