Lands of Hope and Promise: A History of North America
Catholic Textbook Project
This volume presents the history of North America from the landing of Columbus in 1492 to the late 20th century. It tells the story of the European colonists and of the native peoples and cultures with which they interacted and came in conflict. It continues the story of North America through 1973, focusing on the United States as the representative of Anglo-American culture with a minor focus on Mexico as the representative of Latin American culture.

Lands of Hope and Promise includes the contributions of the Catholic Church, Catholic communities, individual Catholics, and Catholic ideas, enriching the standard textbook narrative of American history. And it tells this history as a story, with all the color and drama that belongs to it. End of chapter reviews and other material highlight dates and events, characters in history, and definitions of key terms. High School. 865 pgs. Hardcover. Full color. 8½"x11"

Teacher’s Manual includes goals, activities, quizzes, tests, and answer key for each chapter. 8½”x11"
