Question: We just purchased and started your My Catholic Speller, Level A and Language of God, Level A for my 7-year old First Grader. Where should I begin in Little Stories for Little Folks?
Answer:

Dear Parent,

Thank you for your question!

In CHC's 1st grade lesson plans, the following materials are used: Little Stories for Little Folks Levels 2-4 and My Very First Catholic Speller, as well as the handwriting book, which is designed to work in conjunction with Little Stories for Little Folks.  As My Catholic Speller, Level A and Language of God, Level A are for 2nd grade, the student should be finished with Little Stories for Little Folks by this grade, and be reading Devotional Stories for Little Folks, as recommended in the 2nd grade lesson plans.

As far as wondering where to start in Little Stories for Little Folks, I recommend that you start at the beginning and work your way through the levels.  The reading levels may be easy for him in the beginning, but you will quickly find the level where he will need to start practicing.  It is better to start at a level that is easy for him and progress up, than start at a difficult level, and have to fall back.

God bless you,

Laura Corrigan
