Dear Mom, Perhaps you could seek the advice of non-Catholic homeschooling moms in your area. I have found that in rural areas such as yours homeschooling moms who are not Catholic seem to be better connected with one another. I do not know the reasons for this but it has been true in my own personal experience. It could be that there are just too few Catholic moms who are homeschooling and therefore they are not prepared to devote the kind of time and energy etc. to stay connected to groups that are more than a short distance from home. I think that a good place to start would be with moms you already know that are homeschooling. Search online and see what you can find. I know that this is a frustrating challenge. I suffered with this for many years. The isolation can be overwhelming at times. I will tell you this, when I did find a homeschooling group of interdenominational families I found in these moms great support and encouragement. Certainly I would prefer an all-Catholic group but that is not in the Lord's will at this time. Keep praying for inspiration and for the Lord to send you other kindred spirits to share in the journey. He will. Let us pray for those families that must suffer the extremes of isolation and hurt because their families no longer desire to stay in touch. Let us ask the Lord to empower us to be Peacemakers and bridge builders when we are dealing with difficult and trying situations. Amen. Sending out a prayer,
Rita Munn
