The retreat was so well designed, yet so very flexible that it was easy to adapt the lesson plans to fit the needs of our students. I will be ordering "The Household of God" for next summer! “I researched a lot of vacation bible school options to use for a Catholic Cousin Camp held overnight at my home. I really wanted something Catholic, and not too intimidating for me, a beginner at hosting any camp. I also needed something inexpensive, not $400, since I was hosting a smaller-scale camp. For $20 I ordered and downloaded The Secret Garden, and in a week I had the camp organized, with supplies ready to go. We had 11 children ranging in age from 3 to 15 (mostly 10-11 year olds). It helped to have every minute over planned with all the ideas from the book. Nobody ever said the words I dread to hear, "I'm bored." Every night we sat in a circle and prayed the rosary together, most of them for the first time. One thing I added which was a huge success was teaching them how to make rosaries. At downtimes, they all sat around making more. They can't wait to do it again next summer, and they want it to be Catholic. We'll be ordering another one next year. “Last June our parish held its very first children's summer program. We used the Catholic Children's Retreat: "It's a Mystery - The Holy Trinity." This June we held our second Catholic Children's Retreat using The Secret Garden theme and I can't say enough about the blessings experienced during the week. Last year's was great; this year's was absolutely fantastic! Last year we had 63 children; this year more than 90 children came!
