Dear Mom,

You are very wise to seek suitable extra curricular activities for your youngsters. This is always a good idea because we can stay one step ahead of their desire to do something beyond the homeschool. Children are very social and for the most part desire to be with their peer group on occasion.

We have found that 4H is one of the finest extra activities. My children have enjoyed participating in 4H and look forward to the start of each school year and the beginning of the 4H club.

Though your town may be small I would venture to say that they may have a very active 4H. I was amazed at all that was available through 4H despite the size of our little community. Check with other homeschooling families and see if they are involved in 4H.

Though you may not as of yet belong to a homeschool cooperative group you may investigate the activities that are available through this group. Many times children are more than welcome to join in group outings whether or not they are members of the cooperative group.

Pray that the Lord will send you the opportunities which are suitable for your children. The Lord will honor your desire to find wholesome activities.

Let us pray a Hail Mary together and offer up our prayers for those moms who are feeling isolated in their homeschooling efforts due to circumstances that they are unable to change.
