Question: This is more of a comment to the mom of a highschool freshman. We have just recently seriously considered homeschooling. Our daughter is in a Catholic highschool. She has requested the homeschool option because she is "sick of all the school drama, the inability to work at her own pace, and the pressures that she feels regarding drinking, and physical relationships." We are scared to death to homeschool, but figure that we will make our way along this journey. My prayers are with your family and we appreciate yours.
Answer:

Dear Mom,

Thank you for your input. It is a great blessing for all the parents that seek the solace and companionship of kindred spirits that you would take the time to share your thoughts through this forum. It is indeed a real struggle to get past the 'fears' of the unknown and to enter into the lifestyle that one deep down feels called to be a part of. I admire your courage and I too will keep you in my daily prayers. I believe that for many parents, when faced with the choice between such opposing factors as you describe, the choice to homeschool is not only necessary but peaceful.

Let us offer up our prayers this day for all those parents that find they are in the midst of choices that cause them concern. Let us pray for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that will allow us to walk forward into what we do not know trusting in the Lord to guard and guide.

Sending out a prayer,

Rita Munn
